Technology

Svelte cuts foam materials in a single pass operation to generate complex freeform surfaces.
Comprehensive overview

A practical challenge

While the introduction of 3D CAD software in architecture has permitted architects to dream of exceptional designs, implementing their vision is a hassle. Technological limitations in terms of affordable manufacturing have made the construction sector notoriously conservative. Building projects are often scaled down because of execution challenges: budget and short deadlines.

Svelte solutions

A revolutionary machine

Svelte is a tool that fills the gap between existing 3D software tools used today by architects to envision projects, and the production processes capable of delivering efficient mass customized results.

Svelte invented and patented an innovative machine-system that creates unique molds on an industrial scale in one straightforward operation, at a fraction of the cost and time of current methods.

Strategy

We provide solutions

Our technology is 40 times faster than what currently established technologies offer. In a matter of seconds, Svelte generates the mould needed for casting any-shaped or material panel. Since Svelte doesn’t use the typical freeforming techniques and technologies, it can stand more points of curvature and inclinations, which allows our clients to be more creative and resource-efficient with their designs.

Svelte disrupts the CNC milled moulds process similarly to how 3D printers impacted the prototyping industry, pushing the boundaries of what is possible today to change architecture and construction as we know it. Not even the new 3D printing technologies available today can generate faster moulds then SVELTE option, as 3D printing is time consuming and results in heavier components.

By-passing existing technologies creates a new kind of commodity which will disrupt the entire construction supply chain and create new business opportunities.

Resource-efficient construction

Walls, floors and supporting beams can be optimized to use less material by integrating Svelte cut shapes into surfaces that do not bear a structural function, adding up to 30% savings in construction materials, while providing the same structural properties.

Precast foamwork

Svelte offers the only dedicated solution to realizing double-curved, complex mould for casting concrete elements affordably, at an industrial level.

Naval construction

Shipbuilding companies use large double-curved surfaces to create the hulls of the ships in an almost identical process as the wind blade producers, while facing the same challenges. Svelte can manufacture hulls in a matter of days, cutting production costs.

Façade panels for freeform architecture

Svelte enables for the first time growth in the emerging statement architecture on an industrial scale seamlessly, by generating spectacular, innovative, energy efficient fluid forms of the building façades of the future.

Curved glass

Architectural curved glass is a highly versatile building material that give architects the freedom to create spectacular sculptural facades. Due to the complexity of the process to produce the unique glass panels, this niche is underdeveloped and the afordable Svelte solution can open the door to an exciting territory.

Windmill blade construction

Wind power is the most used source of green energy – a trend bound to continue due to carbon emission reduction commitments around the globe. Using CNC milling technologies for obtaining the mould for a single windmill blade today takes months. Svelte can manufacture it in a matter of days, significantly cutting production costs.
